Types
of Membership

GBC offers three classes of membership:
Regular Members, Associate Members and Specialty Members.
Regular Members are defined as those firms or
corporations which conduct the business of general building construction
or a business with a substantial portion of their volume in the category
of general building construction, that possess a reputation for skill,
integrity, responsibility and performance.
Associate Members are defined as persons, firms or
corporations that supply materials, machinery, supplies or services to
Regular Members of the GBC, but who do not employ onsite labor.
Until 1999, the GBC was the only chapter of the AGC of
America that did not have specialty or subcontractor members in some
fashion. That year, the Board decided to create such a membership
category for an experimental three-year period. Specialty members
are recruited by invitation only and must be approved by the entire
Board of Directors.
